Yesterday, 29th June 2020, the Government announced that mandatory MOT testing is to be reintroduced from 1st August 2020 as COVID-19 restrictions are slowly lifted. This means that all vehicles will now require a normal scheduled MOT from this date!
Drivers with an MOT due date during July 2020 will still receive a six-month exemption from testing. However, all vehicles must continue to be properly maintained and kept in a roadworthy condition. Failure to do so could result in a ban from driving, a fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points on your licence.
